Otranto
The location of the estate is strategic because it is central, a few hundred meters from the historic center but far from the noise of the city chaos.
The Adriatic coast
The sea, from which rulers and liberators came, has always represented the most vivid expression of Salento. Starting from the suggestive beaches of the Alimini to the Baia dei Turchi, white sands, yellow ocher rocks and a rich Mediterranean scrub, where time seems not to have passed since the landing of the 18,000 Saracens, up to the limestone cliffs of Castro and Santa Cesarea, the Salento’s Adriatic coast is profoundly varied, offering suggestive, almost uncontaminated views as well as perfectly equipped beaches.
The hinterland
Typical characteristics of the rural landscape of the Salento hinterland are stone buildings, such as dry stone walls, pagghiare, mirrors, and paralupi. Among the main cities, all united by the still perceptible presence in the architecture and customs of the different dominations that occupied the Terra d’Otranto over the centuries, we remember Lecce, capital of the Baroque, Maglie, Galatina, capital of tarantism but also small villages such as Melpignano , Scorrano, Giurdignano rich in Paleolithic settlements.
